Reef Support Crew is an invitation for planet-positive divers to step into the role of a marine research team member.
Each dive becomes a research expedition, gathering meaningful observations that reveal the story of reef life and ecosystem health.
The information we collect feeds directly into ongoing marine conservation efforts by Blue Alliance Marine Protected Areas.
Coral reefs are some of the planet’s most biodiverse ecosystems, supporting countless species and sustaining millions of people with food, income, and coastal protection. Yet they are also among the most threatened, facing pressures from overfishing, pollution, climate change, and coastal development.
Effective conservation depends on credible, long-term data. Without it, decisions risk being reactive or based on incomplete information — Reef Support Crew bridges this gap by turning recreational dives into monitoring opportunities.
Every observation — whether a fish sighting, a coral growth pattern, or a note on reef condition — adds to a clearer picture of reef health. These records help detect early warning signs, guide management, and ensure action happens where it’s needed most.
For divers, this is an opportunity to combine adventure diving with lasting impact — for coral reefs, fishers, and future generations.

Each Reef Support Crew experience is led by experienced wildlife guides.
Divers learn simple survey methods—using tools like underwater slates, transect lines, or cameras—to gather consistent, science-based data.
These observations are added to ongoing monitoring programmes led by Blue Alliance, which co-manages Marine Protected Areas in Philippines, Tanzania & Indonesia.
By combining purposeful diving with real data collection, Reef Support Crew transforms time underwater into meaningful action for reefs, fishers, and future generations.
